This is the fourth of the Star Trek films, in which an alien probe is threatening to destroy earth. William Shatner (Captain Kirk) takes his crew go back in time to 1980's earth to recover and return two humpback whales that are now extinct, but to which the probe is trying to communicate. They are helped in this by a scientist (Catherine Hicks) who works with an aquarium that has two whales. This film is the fun one in the series, definately tongue in cheek and the most entertaining of the series.
