Comment/Synopsis
The film follows the life of a young woman (Barbara Stanwyck) who after her father dies is given a job in a rural farming community where she marries a Dutch farmer and lives through bereavement and her family. This is a touching film about, family, relationships and life. The film revolves entirely around the performance of Barbara Stanwyck. This is arguably one of her best performances though not one she won any awards for. It was also one of her favourite films.
