A successful novelist (Gregory Peck) who thinks he is dying is tended by his long suffering wife (Susan Hayward), whilst he recalls the various women that he had loved and lost during his life. This is s slow moving romancewith a solid performance from Gregory Peck and there is good support from Susan Hayward as woman he marries and Ava Gardner as the woman who was the real love of his life for years but who he rejected.
