The owner of an antique shop (Oscar Homolka) has a sideline in fencing stolen goods in order to support his daughter (Muriel Pavlow) becoming a concert violinist. Things start to fall apart when his new assistant (Kenneth Griffith) discovers this and his shady background, so starts to blackmail him. The film revolves around the performance of Oscar Homolka as the immigrant with a dubious past with good support from Kenneth Griffith as the scheming assistant and Muriel Pavlow the daughter caught up in the middle whose only concern is her music. The plot is a little contrived in places, but does move with a good pace and maintains the interest all the way through.
