Director: George Melford
A headstrong young woman decides to to travel into the desert with only an Arab guide. However she has been seen by the rich and powerful local Sheik who has her kidnapped to be his wife. She initially resists his advances and tries to escape, but when she is captured by the local bandit they realise that they love each other and he sets out to rescue her. This film has become a classic of 1920's silent cinema and arguably Rudolph Valentino's most famous film. It is helped by having a decent plot, some good interior sets and strong performances from Rudolph Valentino and Agnes Ayres and the modern western woman in male dominated Arabia.
