This is earliest known film version of the Charles Dickens novel. However what remains is incomplete, the run time is about 6 minutes. It is also notable as an early example of the use of intertitles. It was produced by the British company Paul's Animatograph Works. It uses superimposed images to conjure up the ghosts.
