In 1950's Kenya Roland Culver and his girl friend Janet Leigh employ big game hunter Victor Mature to hunt a particular lion. However Victor Mature has another agenda, to find the Mau Mau person who killed his family. The production quality is good as might be expected from an early collaboration between Terence Young and Albert Broccoli with some nice photography of the African bush and Janet Leigh looking sultry on safari. However it is curious that a film set in the middle of the Mau Mau revolt fails to provide any explanation to the political background or what the revolt was about.
