Comment
A butler (Charles Laughton) to an English aristocrat is lost in a game of cards to an uncouth American, and goes with his family to America where he stops being a servant and opens a restaurant. This is a mix of social satire and comedy of manners. Whilst it played to audiences of the time, it has not stood the test of time well. The best of the performances are the supporting roles of Zasu Pitts and Leila Hyams.
