Gregory Peck is a pilot during World War 2, who after his wife is killed in a German air raid is transferred to Burma. His lack of fear of being killed makes him feared by other members of his squadron despite his flying abilities. The doctor is worried about his mental state and takes him to the local mission where he meets the beautiful Win Min Than (in her only film role) who tries to help him come to terms with his loss.
