A single university lecturer moves to a new town with her young daughter. To her the daughter settle they adopt a dog from the dog pound. The dog causes chaos in the house but more porblems come when a local baseball player turns up claiming the dog is his. The inevitable romance develops through a series of ups and downs. Whilst the performance from Candace Cameron is not great, she delivers a performance that has charm without being sickly sweet.
