A newspaper man is killed in a car crash with a woman and then his brother (Robert Beatty) is approached to paint a portrait of the dead woman from a picture. Then the girl (Josephine Griffin) who has been modelling for him is found dead in his flat wearing the dress of the girl in the picture (Terry Moore). As the police suspect him of the murder of the model he has to find the real truth.
