A woman (Virginia Valli) in the chorous line helps another woman (Carmelita Geraghty) with her career but this woman becomes self centered and the two women get involved with two men during their lives. This is Alfred Hitchcock's first film as a director and whilst in places it is a bit of a mess there are some glimpses of the of the style that would become Hitchcock's style. This was filmed mainly in Germany.
