This is a wonderful and entertaining gentle comedy of an English bookshop owner (Hugh Grant) who accidentaly meets and falls in love with a famous American actress (Julia Roberts). It is a well written study, by Richard Curtis, in how normality meets fame and also how other people respond to it. This is an excellent example of British romantic comedy thanks in no small way to the script by Richard Curtis.
