A pastor, his wife (Anne Heche) and their three children (Rebekah Brandes and Jennifer Stone) move to a small rural town to pastor the church, but the previous pastor is still there and has a strange hold over the town. The eldest daughter is befriended by an enigmatic young man (Ethan Peck) who is complicit in the evil goings on. This is a slow building film that revolves arounf the suspense of the unseen and the supernatural, rather than the slash and gore of many modern horror films. Anne heche is good as the mother fighting to make sense of what is happening to her family and there is good support from Rebekah Brandes and Jennifer Stones as her two daughters. This is not blood and gore, but it is an effective horror.
