Comment/Synopsis
One eventful night in a prohibition era night club is portrayed through a range of characters from the owner (Boris Karloff) and his unfaithful wife (Dorothy Reiver), a chorus girl (Mae Clarke) and her new found socialite friend (Lew Ayres) and the philosophising door man (Clarence Muse). The nature of the film mean there is no coherant plot, but the interwoven stories just about hold together. That said, there are some good points in the film, including the performance from Mae Clarke as the chorus girl, the Busby Berkeley dance routines and the coloured door man who is the one character you have empathy for. Whilst this may not be a classic film it is a good early 1930's pre-code film.
