On the Isle of Man two men grow up together and fall in love with the same woman. One goes off to make something of himself and is presumed dead. She has an affair with the other one, but when he turns up alive she marries him, but is pregnant by the man she did not marry. This was the last silent film made by Alfred Hitchcock and is basically a love triangle, The film has a number of well constructed scenes and a good performance from Anny Ondra. One of the main weaknesses of the film is that Malcolm Keen looks twice the age of Anny Ondra and so their love affair is not convincing.
