A scientist studying a frozen mammoth triggers a device that a attracts an alien from outer space that crashes into the museum and takes over the body of the mammoth that then starts running amock in the town and government agents are sent to destroy it. This is not a great film and not helped by an insipid lead character. Tom Skerritt is good but under used and there is good support from from Summer Glau as the daughter. The plot is not very original, but has a few good scenes.
