Clint Eastwood is drawn into a battle between a a corrupt and violent landowner (Robert Duvall) and the leader of the local Mexicans (John Saxon) were are fighting over ownership of some land. Clint Eastwood starts on the side of the landowner, but changes sides when he realises what he is like. This is a standard western, although the characterizations are not great.
