A wealthy American (John Loder) who aspires to be a painter pretends to be poor in Paris and falls in love with neighbour (Nancy Burne) who is a model and aspires to be a dress designer. The script is not very good, but there are a few comic scenes, notably the opening sequence with the ladies underwear accidentally going down the street. This was Carol Reed's first film as a director, although not credited and was filmed in Ealing.
