A scientist (Claude Rains) has developed a serum that has made him invisible but it is also turning him mad and violent. This is a well produced version of the story directed by James Whale which has dark undertones and good effects for the time it was made. It is the first film version of the story and introduced the bandaged face and dark glasses. The performance from Claude Rains is notable for his voice as he face is not really seen.
