In a future world run by a totalitarian state each year each of the 12 districts was to sent two teenagers selected by ballot to the Hunger Games. This is a televised game show that is a fight to the death with only one survivour. When her younger sister is chosen Jennifer Lawrence vounteers to take her place. The contestants are like gladiators in the wild, but set against a political backdrop and the manipulations of reality TV. This film benefits from a strong story and characters, is well produced but the film is made by the performance of Jennifer Lawrence.
