Bonnie Somerville is a part time reporter engaged to a lawyer, who looses her job and is dumped by her fiance. However she is expected home to her compettative family (Shelly Long as the mother) with a fiance and so employs out of work actor Jordan Bridges to act as her fiance. Standard romantic comedy, that is OK but the plot has been done better (My Best Friends Wedding).
