A young man is orphaned and goes to the city to live with his elderly relatives. There he meets a man involved in bootlegged alcohol and when the police raid he takes the punishment by not telling the police who the man was. The bulk of the film is an attempt to expose the brutality of the reformed school system. A young Junior Durkin gives a good performance in the lead role, though Bette Davis only has a small role as the girlfriend of the man.
