Title:Greta (aka Surviving Summer)
Director: Nancy Bardawil
Producer: Hilary Duff
Hilary Duff is a disturbed teenager (father committed suicide and mother on third marriage) who is shipped off to her grandparents for the summer by her mother instead of going to a boot camp. The relationship with her grandparents is difficult and not helped when she brings home a young chef (Evan Ross) from the restaurant where she has a temporary job who has been in jail. When she attempts suicide it impacts all of them and she has to examine her life. This is a thoughtful examination of teenage mental health problems and a surprisingly good performance from Hilary Duff.
