An aspiring opera singer meets a famous opera singer on the boat to America. He offers to help her career but he has a reputation for the ladies, however in this case he falls in love with her, but things are complicated as his understudy is her ex-lover. This is more romance than opera, but the script meanders and Adolphe Menjou is not convincing as a lover. This is not one of Irene Dunne's better films.
