An atomic explosion releases a giant pre-historic turtle from the arctic ice who then goes on the rampage attacking Tokyo. This started life as the Japanese film Gamera The Giant Monster released in 1965. The original was recut by Sandy Howard to include American actors replacing the Japanese and also dubbed into English. The effects, acting and dubing are poor but this is the first of the Gammera films that became a franchise that was designed to rival Godzilla.
