A long distant pilot (John David Horsley) crashes with his dog on a remote island. There he meets a missionary (Henry Walthall) and his daughter (Marceline Day) and also a bar owner (Noah Beery) and his moll (Carmelita Geraghty) who monopolises trade on the island and abuses the local inhabitants, until they rebel under their local leader (Mischa Auer). Even by B movie standards with the dog as the top billed actor, this is a poor film. The plot, dialogue, editing and production quality is poor. Marceline Day is elegant and refined and Carmelita Geraghty is sassy, but the other characters are bland and stereotyped. As a pre-code film it does include a level of nudity and implicit rape that would soon not be allowed. Only worth watching if a fan of Marceline Day and even thn you will will be disappointed.
