A group of five students stay in a cabin in some remote woods where they unleash evil monsters after listening to a tape and which possess them one by one. This film was written and directed by Sam Raimi on a low budget and hence there are no great flashy special effects, just good direction and camera work to deliver a cult horror film that set the benchmark in the early 1980's for all subsequent horror films. This was made using funding from friends and family of Sam Raimi and so was made without the constraints of fitting into big company objectives. What he also did was added a level of subversive black humour into the film.
