After Count Dracula (Christopher Lee) is attacked by a man in his castle he goes after the man's family to turn them into vampires but Dr Van Helsing (Peter Cushing) arrives to try and rescue the family and stop Dracula. This is one of the early Hammer Films and is one of their best. The combination of Christopher Lee and Peter Cushing together with the mix of horror and sexuality that became Hammer's trade mark, has set the style for many horror films (and television series) ever since. THis version of the story has the masculine and sensual Dracula and his opponent as the worldly van Helsing. CHristopher Lee only has 8 minutes but these are very influencial. This also started th idea of Dracula as a franchise type character and featured the fangs of Dracula.
