Scientists working at an undersea research laboratory discover a spacecraft on the bottom of the ocean. They swim out and enter the craft that is empty except for a strange canister which they bring back to the lab. It starts to expand and an alien creature intent on killing everyone appears out of it. THis is a typical 1960's monster film with poor sets and a man in a rubber suit as the monster. The acting is not great, though the plot is better than many similar films of the period. The female characters start by looking like they may be strong characters, but then fade into the background.
