A writer (David Tennant) is trying to marry his girlfriend (Alice Eve) who is a famous film star, but their weddings keep getting disrupted by the paparazzi. Her PR people (Sally Phillips) arrange for their wedding to take place on the small Scottish island where his book was set. To fool the photographers they persuade the only single single girl on the island (Kelly Macdonald) to pretend to be bride, but by accident she ends up actually marrying the groom as the real bride goes AWOL. Although the plot is predictable, this is a good British romantic comedy, especially the performance from Kelly Macdonald. The screenplay was written by Sally Phillips.
