A young woman (Danica McKellar) struggling to make ends meet is sacked from her job as a maid in a New york hotel, but is then unexpectedly offered the job as governess to a royal family is a small European country. The inevitable romance blossoms between her and the king who is due to marry a woman as part of a political arranged marriage. Although this is a typical made for television romance, it is better than most, with good performances from Danica McKellar and Rupert Penry-Jones with good support from Ellie Botterill as the kings daughter.
