Title:The Creation Of The Humanoids
Director: Wesley Barry
Producer: Wesley Barry
In a post-apocalyptic world where radiation has reduced the birth rate such that humans will become extinct, robots that were built as helpers are being developed into machines that are duplicates of dead people will all their memories and emotions. This is a film about the meaning of what it is to be human and where the line between humanity and artificial intelligence lies. This is a wordy but thought provoking film that explores the theme well for the earl 1960's. The theme was reworked in a visually more impressive was way by Ridley Scott and Philip K Dick in the 1980's film Blade Runner, but this is worth watching for a 1960's take on the difference between people and machines. Apart from Don megowan the rest of the cast werelargely unknown.
