A successfull football player meets the daughter of a wealthy stock broker. She arranges for him to get a job with her father's firm, but leaves over a disagreement about ethics. He plots his revenge on the father by becoming a pirate dealing in prohibition alcohol. Chester Morris is fine in the lead role, though Thelma Todd has a comparatively small role and her character is quite unpleasant. Mayo Methot has a stronger role. There is a level of murder in this film that is unusual for a film of this period.
