In the middle of the cold war and the cultural revolution an American scientist (Gregory Peck) is sent to China to get the structure of anew enyme that can make plants grow anywhere. in case things do not go to plan is is implanted with a bug that transmitts everything that he says or hears back to the American military and can also be triggered to kill him. This is part thriller and part cold war politics and this against a pretty silly plot.
