Steve McQueen is a policeman who is given the job of protecting a witness by an ambitious poitician, but when his colleagues are shot he realises all is not as it seems, and he sets out to find the truth. Meanwhile his girlfriend (Jaqueline Bisset) is having second thoiughts about their relationship. This is a gritty police thriller that has a memorable car chase sequence and is arguably one of the best in films.
