Michael Caine is a British agent whose son is kidnapped and ransomed for some diamonds held by his superiors. He then steals the diamonds so he can rescue his son and is then chased by both the kidnappers and his employers. This is a good 1970's British thriller with one of Michael Caine's better and less stereotyped performances. This film suffered from the critics because it was not to the same standard as director Don Siegel's Dirty Harry, but it is still worth watching for both Michael Caine;s performance and the supporting cast.
