Comment
The Prime Minister of Hungary (Henry Stephenson) lives in a castle with his wife (Helen Westley) and married daughter (Annabella) and looked after by their perfect butler (William Powell). The butler is elected to parliament but for the opposition party to his boss, the baron. Initially they agree to continue the baron and butler relationship, despite the opposition of his daughter the baroness, but then their relationship deteriorates. This is a good comic drama, that sends up the class system of the working class rebelling against the aristocracy set against a love story between two people of different classes. The baroness and the butler have to overcome class, family, expectation and their own reticence to fulfil their love for each other. Whilst the production is not great, the script is very witty and ther are very good performances from William Powell as the butler and Annabella as the baroness.
