A woman (Bette Davis) insists that her family join her to celebrate the anniversasry of the death of her husband. During the evening she systematically reveals each persons hidden secrets and tears tem apart emotionally and psychologically. This film is all about the performance of Bette Davis as the dominering, manipulative matriach, in about the last film she made in which she was the main centrl character. There is good support from Sheila Hancock as the wife of one son and Elaine Taylor as the girl friend on another son.
