After a statue is recovered from a lake a woman returns to claim her inheritance deaths statr occuring in the local village. Barbara Steele looks like the person in the statue and her character swaps from benign to evil as she manipulates the people around her and enjoying crating violence between people. this is a good Italian gothic horror that is all about suspense, atmosphere and character and it is the performance from Barbara Steele that makes the tension in the film.
