Paulette Goddard started as a child model and then appeared on stage in the Ziegfeld Follies. She had her first major role in Modern Times with Charlie Chaplin and also appeared with him in Great Dictator. She was a popular actress who had a varied film career from the 1930's to the 1950's including working with some major leading men including Bob Hope, Fred Astaire. She lived with Charlie Chaplin for several years (they may or may not have been married) and she was briefly married to Burgess Meredith.
