Laura Dern is the daughter of Diane Ladd and Bruce Dern. Her first major role was in Blue Velvet, but is probably best known for her role in Jurassic Park. She was nominatied for an Oscar for Rambling Rose in 1991 though had a resurgence of her career with an Oscar win and nomination in the 2010's.
