Louise Brooks was an American actress in the 1920's and 1930's who appeared mainly in silent films as well as a few sound films. She started her career as a dancer and appeared in the Ziegfeld’s Follies. Her first films were for Paramount in Hollywood but after a falling out she moved to Europe where she starred in her defining role as Lulu in the German silent film Pandora's Box. She was known for her bobbed hair style and is also reputed to have had an affair with Charlie Chaplin.
