Roscoe "Fatty" Arbuckle was a popular comedian in silent films from 1909 to 1920. Despite his size he was remarkably agile with his physical gags. He is remembered for his work with Mack Sennett at Keystone Pictures and for starring alongside Mabel Normand, Harold Lloyd, Buster keaton. By 1920 he was one of the highest paid actors in Hollywood, but his career came to an abrupt halt when he was accused on murdering a young actress at a party. Although aquitted, it stopped his career, though he did direct a few fillms under the name William Goodrich, he died aged 46 of a heart attack to which his weight and alochol likely contributed. He was married to Minta Durfee.
